The "Incident Commanders’ Radio Interface” (ICRI) continues to be widely trialed, recommended and deployed throughout military, homeland security, and public safety agencies and exercises:

  • September, 2006:  Washington D.C. Metro System & the National Capital Region Radio Cache:  Fire, police, FEMA/USAR units throughout the region train with the ICRI in the subway system in the event of a Madrid/London-type bombing or other emergency.  First-responders use the portable ICRI-2P and Cable Reel/Extension to extend communications into the tunnels, connecting and providing interoperability for those above and below ground.
  • February, 2006:  U.S. Joint Forces Command issues final recommendations for the “Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration 2005” (CWID), citing the “Incident Commanders’ Radio Interface” (ICRI) as a Top Performer and ‘outstanding success’ in linking military, public safety and homeland security agency radios.  More info
  • February, 2006:  The ICRI is an active participate in the “Department of Defense Interoperability Communications Exercise” (DICE '06), as part of the equipment deployed by Joint Task Force-Civil Support, the 91st Weapons of Mass Destruction–Civil Support Team (WMD-CST) Arizona, and as part of CISCO’s IPICS “solution” at the Ft. Gordon Signal Center.  DICE is the sole DoD exercise whose primary purpose is to generate joint interoperability certifications.  It’s a forum for testing emerging DoD technologies, allied communications initiatives, legacy equipment compatibility and realistic joint military communications training.
  • February and March 2006:  The ICRI will be utilized in a multi-agency exercise in Alaska (103rd WMD-CST), California (9th WMD-CST), Colorado (8th WMD-CST), and Iowa (71st WMD-CST), at Ft. Bragg (82nd Airborne).
  • In a January 15th, 2006 report, The United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) identifies the ICRI as the solution for providing interoperability between squad and tactical radios.
  • The ICRI has been successfully field tested in over 300 customer loan demos across the country. Contact C-AT to setup a field trial.

Contract vehicles and programs for purchasing C-AT equipment:

GSA Contract Information and GSA Price List for ICRI

  • The ICRI and accessories are available for purchase by qualified agencies, including participants in the 1122 program, under C-AT’s new GSA contract. The General Services Administration, Federal Supply Service, recently awarded C-AT Contract Number GS-07F-0653N, under schedule number 084, Service Identification Number (SIN) 426 99.   The GSA contract simplifies the purchasing process by making the ICRI available under pre-arranged and pre-negotiated terms, saving time, effort and reducing costs.

Direct Equipment Assistance and Technology Transfer Programs

  • The “Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program” (CEDAP), has selected the ICRI as an interoperability device to be sent directly to smaller agencies, serving populations under 100,000 -- those typically outside the Urban Area Security Initiative.  CEDAP is a federally funded DHS program through The Office for State and Local Government Coordination and Preparedness.   C-AT will update this page when the 2006 program is funded and applications are open.  More info on CEDAP
  • The Office of National Drug Control Policy, Counterdrug Technology Assessment Center is making the ICRI available directly to law enforcement agencies through its Technology Transfer Program. The Federal program provides counter-drug equipment to state and local law enforcement agencies at no charge to the agencies.  Funding for the 2006 program is pending and C-AT will update this page when the program is funded and applications are open.  More info

Cooperative Purchasing programs

  • The Houston-Galveston Area Council selects the ICRI and makes it available to its 1,600 member purchasing cooperative.  Joining the cooperative is free. More info on the program.

Other C-AT Products

AMCVIS (Advanced Multi-Channel Vehicle Intercom System):

  • In the second half of 2004 C-AT delivered 80 units to the 75th Rangers and another 52 in first quarter 2005.  C-AT was able to deliver these units within 60 days of contract award.
  • A 10 crew-men digital AMCVIS for the Army Special Forces will go into field testing mid-year 2005.
  • A variation of AMCVIS for public safety command vehicles will be first deployed by the Dekalb County, GA EMA along with ICRIs.

DWIS (Digital Wireless Intercom System):

  • C-AT’s digital intercom system for in-flight operations, developed for the Air Force Fixed and Rotary Wing flight crews has been selected for training nursing personnel aboard C-130s.

Haz-Mat/Confined Space Entry teams:

  • C-AT duplex radios developed originally in the early 1980’s for the Army’s Chemical Munitions Demilitarization workers has now passed 350,000 hours of in-suit operations by entry teams.
  • C-AT has completed the delivery of  24 intrinsically safe team communication systems to NASA Kennedy Space Center for the shuttle maintenance pre-launch crew communications
