AMCVIS System

The intercom master unit contains essentially all of the electronics for the system, as well as the interface connectors. External 12 Ð 30 VDC power is applied via a heavy-duty MS series connector. A resettable circuit breaker is included to allow quick power restoration if this should ever prove necessary.

Status LEDs are provided on the side of the unit, along with level adjustments for the radio. Two radio interface connectors are provided, one is designated the primary (monitor and transmit) and the other is monitor only. An optional remote switch feature can be provided to allow selection of which radio will be the master and which will be monitor only. A LED is also provided to indicate when one of the users has keyed up the primary radio.

The front panel of the intercom control unit has ten intercom station interface connectors for the ten intercom channels (a five channel version is also available). Each remotely located single or dual intercom remote station is connected to one of these channel ports. Individual intercom control units are then connected to the remote station units. The control units have heavy clips that allow them to be securely attached to the users clothing. The headset is then simply plugged into the control unit. A wide variety of military and commercial headsets are supported.

In operation, users adjust their headset volume via a protected volume control on the intercom control unit. When they need to speak on the intercom system, they simply press the "ICOM PTT" switch. All other connected users will hear their audio. At the same time, all users can hear the incoming audio from both of the attached radios. If a user wants to transmit on the radio, they simply press the "RADIO PTT" switch. These switches have guards to prevent accidental engagement and to protect them from damage.

Customized versions of the AMCVIS are available on special order to accommodate specialized or unique requirements.
