Advancing Tactical Communications for Over 40 Years

Communications-Applied Technology, C-AT, designs and manufactures communication systems for military, federal, public safety, emergency response, tactical vehicle, and hazardous operational environments.

Our systems connect people, radios, vehicles, dispatch centers, and operational teams when standard communication paths are unavailable, incompatible, or insufficient.

C-AT develops rugged, configurable systems that support immediate communication, integration with fielded equipment, and long-term operational use.

Why Organizations Choose C-AT

Mission requirements rarely fit inside a standard product specification.

For more than four decades, C-AT has worked with military organizations, federal agencies, public safety departments, OEMs, vehicle manufacturers, and system integrators to solve complex communication problems.

We provide both standard product configurations and custom-engineered communication systems designed around:

  • existing radios and networks
  • vehicle platforms
  • dispatch and command environments
  • operator workflows
  • installation constraints
  • hazardous operational conditions
  • mission-specific communication requirements

Our focus remains the same:

Deliver communication systems that work immediately, integrate cleanly, and support the mission over the long term.

Engineered Around Your Mission

Every operational environment is different.

Different radios.
Different vehicles.
Different agencies.
Different users.
Different communication networks.
Different operational objectives.

C-AT systems are modular, adaptable, and configured around the equipment, mission, and operating environment of each customer.

We support:

  • standard system configurations
  • custom cabling and interfaces
  • vehicle-specific installations
  • radio and headset integration
  • dispatch and command-center connectivity
  • custom communication architectures
  • unique operational and safety requirements

When a standard system fits, we provide it.
When it does not, C-AT engineers a solution that does.

What Does C-AT Do?

C-AT designs and manufactures:

  • radio interoperability systems
  • tactical vehicle intercom systems
  • hazardous-environment safety communication systems
  • LMR-to-SATCOM communication solutions
  • dispatch and command-center integration systems
  • custom communication equipment and accessories

Our systems enable otherwise disconnected radios, networks, vehicles, and users to operate within a coordinated communication environment.

ICRI Radio Interoperability Systems

The ICRI is a modular radio interoperability system that connects otherwise incompatible communication platforms.

ICRI systems can integrate:

  • analog and digital radios
  • trunked donor radios
  • Land Mobile Radio systems
  • push-to-talk over cellular networks
  • mesh and MANET radios
  • SATCOM communication paths
  • dispatch and command-center audio
  • air-to-ground communications
  • marine-to-ground communications

The ICRI is designed for planned operations, emergency response, multi-agency coordination, continuity events, and infrastructure-failure scenarios.

Its modular, stackable architecture enables agencies to configure the system around the number of radios, devices, talk groups, and operational roles required for the incident.

No dependence on the Internet. No radio reprogramming. No recurring subscription required for baseline interoperability.

ICRI systems are preconfigured for the intended radios and devices so users can connect equipment and establish interoperability quickly.

C-AT also develops custom ICRI configurations for unique radio, dispatch, SATCOM, and network requirements.

ComForce Tactical Vehicle Intercom Systems

C-AT ComForce is a radio-agnostic and headset-agnostic tactical vehicle intercom system designed for armored, tactical, convoy, and mission vehicles.

ComForce connects crew members and multiple radios into one controlled communication environment inside the vehicle.

Each crew position uses an individual Intercom Control Unit that enables:

  • radio selection
  • radio transmission
  • intercom communication
  • independent audio control
  • simultaneous crew and radio coordination
  • glove-accessible operation

ComForce supports integration with:

  • tactical military radios
  • Land Mobile Radio systems
  • SATCOM radios
  • mesh and MANET radios
  • aviation radios
  • analog and digital radio systems
  • existing and emerging communication equipment

Available configurations include:

  • ComForce 5.2: up to five users and two radios
  • ComForce 10.2: up to ten users and two radios
  • ComForce 10.4: up to ten users and four radios

ComForce systems are configured around the vehicle platform, crew structure, radio environment, and operational requirement.
C-AT also develops custom vehicle communication configurations when standard systems do not fully meet the requirement.

WIS Hazardous-Environment Safety Communication Systems

The C-AT Wireless Intercom System, WIS, is a hands-free, full-duplex safety communication system for personnel working inside protective equipment and hazardous operational environments.

WIS supports communication during:

  • chemical weapons destruction
  • hydrazine loading and fueling operations
  • nuclear facility operations
  • hazardous material response
  • CBRNE operations
  • confined or controlled hazardous work environments

The system is designed for use with protective equipment including:

  • SCBA
  • rebreathers
  • Level A protective suits
  • PAPR and CAPR systems
  • fully encapsulated protective equipment

WIS enables continuous two-way communication without requiring the operator to press a push-to-talk button or compromise the protective seal of the suit.

Key Capabilities

  • hands-free, full-duplex communication
  • throat-microphone integration
  • continuous audio verification
  • portable, console, and rack-mounted repeater configurations
  • compatibility with protective respiratory equipment
  • battery-powered deployment options
  • integration with cellular and Land Mobile Radio systems
  • operation in high-humidity, high-noise, and chemically exposed environments

WIS is more than an intercom.
It is a personnel safety communication system designed to maintain team coordination while operators work under protective conditions.

LMR-to-SATCOM Communication Solutions

When traditional communication paths become unavailable, C-AT can extend Land Mobile Radio communications over satellite networks to maintain coordination between field teams and command.

C-AT supports integration with commercial and government satellite transport options, including configurations using:

  • Starlink
  • Iridium
  • MSAT-G2 and G2E
  • other SATCOM transport systems

These solutions bridge local radio systems to remote operations centers without requiring replacement of existing radio infrastructure.

Designed for

  • infrastructure failure
  • disaster response
  • remote deployments
  • military operations
  • continuity of operations
  • critical infrastructure
  • mobile command environments

Key Benefits

Extended Communication Reach
Expand LMR communication beyond terrestrial coverage using satellite transport.

Infrastructure Independence
Maintain communication when cellular, microwave, or local radio infrastructure is unavailable or compromised.

Configured for the Mission
C-AT configures LMR-to-SATCOM solutions around the radios, transport network, operational authority, security requirements, and mission environment.

Communication Continues When Infrastructure Does Not

Natural disasters, remote deployments, military operations, and multi-agency incidents can disrupt cellular service, network connectivity, and local communication infrastructure.

C-AT designs modular communication systems that connect radios, dispatch centers, vehicles, and satellite networks so operational teams can maintain coordination when conventional communication paths are unavailable.

Connect Existing Systems. Expand Operational Capability.

Replacing operational equipment can add cost, time, training requirements, and integration risk.

C-AT integrates fielded radios, dispatch audio, SATCOM, mesh networks, tactical systems, vehicle communications, and emerging technologies into practical operational configurations.

This enables organizations to expand communication capability without discarding equipment that already performs its mission.
